Course Overview
The project for this ten week course will be to make a small coffee table (400mm x 400mm Square) where the course tutor will demonstrate the step by step process, and assist you to build and complete this exiting project.
What topics are covered?
How to mark out and cut mortice and tenon joints by hand, use a hand held smoothing plane to taper the table legs, shape the table rails, biscuit joint and glue up the table top, how to fit the top onto the table frame and allow for expansion and contraction, run a decorative moulding around the edge of the table top to finish off your master piece.

Anyone who attended woodworking for beginners (Parts 1 & 2) and would like to develop their skills, or anyone who already knows how to use basic workshop tools and has a knowledge of cutting mortice and tenon joints, and would like to further develop their joinery skills.
The course is based in a practical workshop and learning will take place by practical demonstrations from the tutor, progress will be made through training so you can confidently complete the project in ten weeks.
