Course Overview

Are you interested in emerging digital technology? The Level 4 units lay the foundation of learning by providing a broad introduction to digital technologies and to a range of digital technology specialist functions. This develops and strengthens core skills, while preparing students to study specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment with the qualities necessary for job roles that require some personal responsibility. Level 4 is the equivalent to the first year of a degree.

The course includes units in; Professional Practice in the Digital Economy, Innovation & Digital Transformation, Cyber Security and Programming.

BTEC Level 3 Extended/Diploma AS / A2 / A levels Four GCSEs at C/4 or above including Maths and English language Access to HE Diploma. You will also need English and Maths GCSE (full qualification) minimum grade C/4. 

Please be aware mature students will be considered on an individual basis.

IT equipment required for the course is provided by the College. However, it would be an advantage if you have a PC at home for independent study.
You will be taught via a mixture of lectures, laboratory workshops and directed independent study tasks. Work and progress is assessed by a range of methods, which may include assignments, projects, case studies and practical exercises.
