Floristry - Floristry for Beginners Part 1 (23/24)

Course Overview

A fun introduction to floristry skills, split into two parts. You will use a variety of flowers, foliage and sundries to create some simple designs for you to take home each week, including a hand tied bouquet, an arrangement in floral foam and a floral tribute. Flowers, tools and equipment provided. We recommended that you complete Part 1 prior to attending Part 2. Please note, to allow for ordering of fresh flowers, enrolments will close seven working days before the course is due to start.

What topics are covered?

During Part 1, you will cover basic floristry skills, including conditioning flowers, arranging in oasis, hand tied designs, and gift wrapping. In Part 2, you will develop skills learnt in Part 1 and progress to more technical floristry such as wiring, elements and principles of design and professional finishing.

Part 1 is ideal for absolute beginners, no prior experience necessary. Part 2 is suitable for those who have completed Part 1, or who have some experience and knowledge who would like to develop their skills - this is not suitable for absolute beginners.
Practical demonstrations and hands on tuition. You will be working with sharp tools.
Please bring a large bag/container to carry your designs home and an apron. You must wear closed toe shoes for Health and Safety.
Flowers, tools and equipment provided. Enrolment closing date is seven working days before the start date.
