Course Overview
Hairdressers will be able to shampoo and condition hair, cut hair using a range of techniques, style and finish hair to create variety of looks, and colour and lighten hair for ladies and men. Hairdressers must be able to work with all hair types ranging from straight hair to very curly, wiry hair. They also need to be able to carry out consultations with clients, demonstrate the professionalism, values, behaviours, communication skills and safe working practices associated with their role and be able to work without supervision to a high level of precision, with exceptional client care skills. Ideal for those looking to go into the hair and beauty industry, this Level 2 apprenticeship is a great opportunity to gain hands on industry experience and act as a stepping stone to becoming an advanced hair professional. This programme is ideal for school leavers right through to mature apprentices wanting to retrain.

Apprentices without level 1 English and Maths (GCSE 3/D) will need to achieve this level and take the test for level 2 English and Maths (GCSE 4/C) prior to taking the end-point assessment. (Please note those apprentices wanting to progress onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme must achieve the Level 2 in Maths and English before being able to do so.)

Classroom and work based teaching and assessment to monitor, knowledge, skills and behaviours to ensure industry competencies.
Advanced and Creative Hair Professional - Hairdresser Level 3
Commitment to attend each session in college uniform and with a full hairdressing kit (details of this at time of enrolment).

(RWE) client sessions in a professional manner.
