Change of Chair at Bath College

Professor Andy Salmon is handing over the role of Chair of the Bath College Board after a three-year term of office. He is succeeded by Sandra Prail MBE.


Sandra, who is significantly experienced in Further Education sector, will work with existing long standing Governors Dr Victoria Downing Burn and Marie Claire Haines who are Co Vice Chairs at the College.


The Governing Body has recently voted to extend its number - introducing five new members bringing additional focus on transformation, finance and skills.

“Over the half-term, Jayne Davis, our Principal and Chief Executive, notified us of her decision to resign from her post.

 

“Jayne has given the College a huge amount over a significant number of years. She has dedicated her working life to supporting our students and advancing our work and efforts, and the Board of Governors, on behalf of our whole community, would like to thank her for considerable contribution.

Bath College comments on publication of Ofsted report 29th January

Following an inspection on 17 to 20 October 2023 by Ofsted, inspectors have given the college an overall grade of 'requires improvement'.

Mayor hails purr-fect Bath College Animal Care courses helping plug national shortage

During Colleges Week, Metro Mayor and well-known animal lover Dan Norris got up close to cats, reptiles and lots of small, fluffy creatures at Bath College’s Somer Valley Campus.

 

The region’s directly elected Mayor found out how the state-of-the-art Animal Care Centre in Radstock for furry and feathered friends is helping train up the next generation of vets and other animal care workers, plugging a national shortage.

Bath College of Further Education are seeking proposals from potential providers of Internal Audit Services for three years from 1 August 2023. While the Corporation has overall responsibility for the appointment of Internal Auditors, it has delegated the selection process to its Audit Committee who will manage the process and make a recommendation to it.
