Course Overview

As the average age of the UK population increases and we become ever more aware of early onset dementia a response is needed. This course will equip learners with an understanding of the principles of caring for individuals who are living with dementia. The course will help learners to understand how to put the individual at the heart of planning their care and how dementia affects individuals from different backgrounds differently in a range of contexts. We would recommend this course to learners who not only interested in working in the care sector but also to individuals who are home carers for their loved ones.

Learners start and complete our distance learning courses every day, all year, so there is no need to wait until term begins. The courses are designed to be ready when you are, so you can fit it into your schedule.

Study takes place in an online virtual learning environment (VLE) which allows convenient and flexible learning. We recommend spending 6-8 hours studying per week to ensure that you meet your assignment deadlines.
