This course is designed for students hoping to progress their technical expertise in preparation for roles in design and production for construction and building services engineering. The course is day release and is the perfect platform for students already in the workplace and offers the knowledge and skill-base to complement their current vocational experience.
This qualification leads to membership of professional organisations e.g., CIOB, CIBSE and CIAT as well as to well established degree courses at a wide range of universities. The course aims to develop your subject specific knowledge and enhance your understanding of industry practice by placing theory within the context of specific occupational stream e.g. heating, electrical.
Please note: The full cost for this 2-year programme is £7,000 and payment of the fees will be split between in Year 1 and Year 2.
A related Level 3 diploma or suitable relevant industrial experience. Mature students wishing to study Higher National courses will be assessed with an entry exam at interview. We will also review students with other qualifications and/or experience.

may include an initial assessment to ensure the qualification is appropriate for
them. It will also be the opportunity to ask any specific questions you might
have about the programme.
The core units for the Construction Management for England pathway are:
You will be taught over one day a week via a variety of lectures, group work and class discussions. Assessment comes in the form of written reports and reviews based on briefs that are context specific allowing you to see the industry relevance of each piece of work.
You can progress on to a HND in Construction (BSE or Construction pathway) or into the industry to pursue professional membership or chartered status. Alternatively, you can progress to a university and complete a full bachelor’s degree.

This HNC course costs £7,000. It is completed over two years at £3,500 per year.

You will gain a BTEC HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Construction Management for England Level 4.
