T Levels are new courses which will follow GCSEs and will be equivalent to three A Levels. These two-year courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares learners for work. T Levels combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 315 hours of industry placement with an employer to make sure students have real experience of the workplace.
This qualification is for you if you are a 16-19-year-old learner, who wishes
to work within the Digital sector with a focus on software design and
development. The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the
sector, and you will cover topics such as: Programming, Emerging Issues and the
Impact of Digital, Business Context, Data and Security.
All students will achieve two components of the Technical Qualification 'Core' and 'Occupational Specialism'. The 'Core' element will include key concepts and theories and will be graded A* - E. Assessments will include external exams and an Employer Set Project. The 'Occupational Specialism' will include a synoptic practical exam based upon occupational maps. In addition to this all students will complete a minimum of 315 hours industry placement.
