Are you passionate about working with children and young people? This pathway provides you with an exciting opportunity to begin your career in the Childcare and education sectors and will enable those aspiring to work with children and young people in varied settings, to fulfil their potential. You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to support children’s learning and development across the full range of ages and develop an in depth understanding of learning, development and wellbeing, and develop your own practice as a result of work placement experience.

Entry Requirements
These courses are predominantly for 16-19 year olds and have different requirements depending on level. A clear DBS check is needed for all levels. Level 1 requires minimum of grade 1 English language and maths.

What is the aim of the course?
These pathways will equip you with the knowledge and practical skills needed by a childcare and education professional. You will engage in a range of activities and projects, which will support the development of your skills, this will include experience in work placement environments, across a range of ages. The courses are most suited for people aged 16-18 who are just beginning their vocational learning. Those who successfully complete their programme will achieve a nationally recognised qualification at the appropriate level.
