Do you have a passion for cars and engineering? This course is for anyone interested in light vehicle maintenance and wish to develop and broaden their experience at a level suiting their ability. This course is most suited for people who are just starting out on their vocational learning.

How will I be taught and assessed?
The course involves 60% practical workshop sessions and 40% theory based classroom sessions. There will be practical assessments supported by written reports, and your knowledge will be tested by written and computer-based tests. You will use an electronic portfolio to upload you work and collate achievement.
On successful completion of the course you can progress onto the Level 2 in Motor Vehicle.

Course related trips may be organised for some programmes, details will be discussed at the start of the course.

What is the aim of the course?
The aim of this course is to provide you with the basic skills needed to drive forward your career in the motor industry including routine light vehicle maintenance, the removal and replacement of parts. Once you successfully complete your programme you will achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
