The T Level Transition Programme is a 16-19 study programme specifically designed to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto a T Level. It is aimed at learners who are not ready to start a T Level at 16 but have the potential to progress onto one. Throughout this course, learners will have their progress measured in Maths and English, Study Skills, Employability Skills and Digital Skills and will study Communication, Health and Safety and Project Management within this course. Learners will be expected to complete purposeful work placements and will be supported to complete a small route based project. All learners on this transitional course will complete a BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Creative Media Skills which is accredited by the awarding body, Pearson.

Learners studying on this course will explore the technical skills related to areas ssuch as film, television, video, animation, motion graphics and VFX.

The college provides access to the Adobe Creative Suite which can be accessed from home when you enrol on the course and complete your induction.

Entry Requirements
Learners must have English and Maths GCSEs, one must be grade C/4 or above and the other at D/3 or above. In addition to this they must have two further good GCSEs at grade D/3 or above. Or, a relevant Level 1 Qualification at Merit with English and Maths at an appropriate level and a recommendation from their tutor.

How will I be taught and assessed?
Learners will be assessed using different methods including practical assessments, demonstrations, presentations and an individual project. All learner work is internally assessed and externally moderated.
What can I do next?
It is anticipated that learners who successfully complete this course will progress to a suitable Level 3 offering such as ‘T Level - Media, Broadcast and Production (Content Creation and Production)’. Some learners may pursue apprenticeship avenues or seek full-time employment.

What is the aim of the course?
The purpose of this course is to support learners to transition from Level 2 to an appropriate T-Level at Level 3.
