Course Overview
The T Level Transition Programme is a 16-19 study programme specifically designed to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto a T Level Digital programme. It is aimed at students who are not ready to start a T Level at 16 but have the potential to progress onto one.
The T Level Transition Programme consists
of five
components that should be tailored to the needs of the individual student:
1. Guidance and support
2. English and Maths.
3. Work Experience and preparation.
4. Introductory technical skills.
5. Pastorial support and personal development.

The T Level Transition Programme consists

You must have English and maths GCSEs, one must be grade C/4 or above and the other at D/3 or above. In addition to this you must have two further good GCSEs at grade D/3 or above.
Or, a relevant Level 1 qualification at merit with English and Maths at an appropriate level and a recommendation from your tutor.
Transition Level will combine classroom theory, practical learning. The delivery of this program is designed to be delivered in trimesters.
Trimester 1 & 2 wil be focused on completing baseline assessments and your Level 2 qualification. This will be assess through a series of mandatory external exams and internal assignments.
Trimester 3 known as the Transition-2-TLevel (T-2-T) stage will focus on internal assessment to prepare students for T-levels and help us identify T-Level ready students.
Qualification: BTEC Level 2 Technical Diploma in Digital Technologies (Digital Application).
Achieving this qualification will give learners an advantage when applying for a job in IT. The types of jobs they will be ready for are:
- Junior developer
- Content coordinator
- Trainee mobile developer.
The qualification gives learners a sound basis to progress to a Level 3 qualification, when studied in a full study programme, such as the T Level Digital Production Design and Development, T Level Digital Support Services, BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computing or IT, or a Level 3 digital apprenticeship.
