Course Overview

This one-day workshop focuses on developing and exploring digital camera skills. It will focus on getting to know your camera and initial camera set up, gaining confidence in switching from Auto mode by understanding and adjusting camera settings including aperture, shutter speed and ISO. You will have the opportunity to work in a professional photographic studio. Equipment is available, but if you prefer to work with your own camera, please bring it along.

Getting to know your camera and initial set up; Composing a photograph; Understanding and adjusting camera settings including Aperture, shutter speed and ISO; Exposing and focusing your images correctly, Using natural lighting; Using different lenses; Using Flash; File sizes and resolutions; Preparation for print.

This Saturday workshop runs from 10am-16pm at City centre campus. There will be a break during the day, which your tutor will confirm with you at the start of the session. Please send in a photo of yourself to studentid@bathcollege.ac.uk in advance of the course for your ID badge. We will issue this for you on the day.
