No formal qualifications required - just an interest in Art & Design and a willingness to try new things.
There may be some additional costs to cover course trips, these will be discussed when you start your year of study. You may also need to purchase some art materials as you progress through the course.
The Level 1 Art and Design course is designed to help you gain confidence, establish a solid foundation of knowledge and develop your core creative skills.
Work is assessed through short projects which is course work based and students will work in sketchbooks and create PowerPoints to build a portfolio of work. A final major project will be set at the end of the year, this is a ten-week exam project where students choose a more personal theme to show and develop previously learnt skills.
You can progress onto Level 2 Art & Design, Fashion, Business & Retail or Media studies. Past students have continued to progress through the levels and onto university.
