Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools Certificate L2 (21/22)
Course Overview
This level 2 qualification is delivered on a part time basis, with sessions held during the morning at our City Centre Campus in Bath. It is tailored for those individuals who are employed by a school or who work as a volunteer. It will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to support learning in schools. You will be expected to attend College one day a week to obtain the theory element of the programme, which will include written assignments. In addition, your practice will be observed and assessed in your workplace. You will be expected to have an IT qualification at level 1 and English and Maths at GCSE grade D (or an equivalent qualification).

It is tailored for those individuals who are employed by a school or who work as a volunteer. It will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to support learning in schools. You will be expected to attend College one day a week, for 3 hours, to obtain the theory element of the programme, which will include written assignments. In addition, your practice will be observed and assessed in your workplace. You will be expected to have English and Maths at GCSE grade D (or an equivalent qualification).
You will obtain a Level 2 City & Guilds qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
You will learn through attending the scheduled sessions to ensure you receive the required input. Your learning will be enhanced through group work including presentations, discussions and project work. You will be expected to complete a number of assignments at the required standard, and receive workplace observations where you will be given supportive feedback to enhance your learning further. he modules are assessed via a variety of methods: presentations, discussions, journals and observations in the setting. There are no exams for this qualification.
You could enrol onto our level 3 programme, which is available as a part time standalone qualification, or as part of an Advanced Apprenticeship; both pathways will allow you to progress onto the Foundation Degree which is a two-year, part time programme delivered through Bath College.
To avoid disappointment, please make sure you apply for your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course.
