Course Overview

This Ceramics course is one of our most popular workshops and will give you the opportunity to gain practical experience of a wide range of methods, from hand building, to throwing on the potter's wheel. Over this 10-week ceramics programme, you will cover all the basic skills of the ceramicist and develop many surface techniques from texture to slip-decoration, discover ways of obtaining colour and learn about glazing for both earthenware and stoneware clays.

Suitable for beginners and experienced ceramicists will be able to work more independently.
Practical demonstration of various techniques both in hand building, thrown work and decorative techniques. One to one guidance from the tutor to help you develop and achieve your own ideas. Beginners and experienced students work alongside each other. Revison of techniques is ongoing. Please note due to size of kilns we have a maximum limit to the size of your piece of work. Length 61cm, width 54cm and height 90cm.
An apron and a tea towel or hand towel.

To avoid disappointment, please make sure you enrol on your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course.
