Course Overview
This course is designed for people with some prior knowledge of the
French language.
You will develop your linguistic competence through four main skills:
listening, speaking, reading and writing.
This will take place through a
variety of contexts and with the support of authentic materials to develop their
cultural capital. You will be able to analyse the language within a cultural
context to develop your confidence, lexicon and grammatical foundations in order
to express your ideas and opinions, to seek information and to respond to
speakers in French.
By the end of the course, you will be able to engage in a French conversation
with more confidence and you will understand commonly used terms in most central
areas like family, shopping, employment, geography, etc.
The Pre-intermediate
level consists of two parts, followed by a consolidation course; it is
recommended that you attend both parts before joining the consolidation
course.
