English GCSE (23/24)

Course Overview

This course is for you, if you have a minimum of grade 3 in GCSE English and/or are considered by the tutors to be capable of successfully completing in one year. An assessment will be carried out before you begin the course. You will cover reading, writing and presentation skills. You will be studying 19th, 20th and 21st Century texts, covering a selection of topics. We will be focusing on analysis, evaluation, and comparison skills. You will have a variety of opportunities to improve the standard of your writing.

Grade 3 or Level 2 Functional Skills
Lessons will be either face to face, or we have a fully remote course. There will be regular assessments throughout the year and final national exams in June.
After the GCSE has been achieved, you can go onto our Access, HE or many other courses that require GCSE entry grades.
