Course Overview

The UAL Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of media-related subjects, including games design, website design, film, TV, radio, sound engineering and others.

In this course you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in filming, editing, motion graphics, design for social media, audio, media theory, graphic design for all formats of media and career progression into the creative industries.

The college provides access to the Adobe Creative Suite which can be accessed from home when you enrol on the course and complete your induction period.

Learners must have English and Maths GCSEs, one must be grade C/4 or above and the other at D/3 or above. In addition to this they must have two further good GCSEs at grade D/3 or above. Or, a relevant Level 1 Qualification at Merit with English and Maths at an appropriate level and a recommendation from their tutor.

IT equipment required for the course is provided by the College. However, it would be an advantage if learners have an appropriate device (PC/Mac, Laptop, Tablet) at home for independent study.

The aim of this course is to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of media-related subjects.
Learners will be assessed using different methods including practical assessments, demonstrations, presentations and an individual project.

It is anticipated that learners who successfully complete this course will progress to a suitable Level 3 offering such as 'Digital Media Production'. Some learners may pursue apprenticeship avenues or seek full-time employment.
